AgeSong at Laguna Grove Has a Different Approach to Elder Care

AgeSong at Laguna Grove, located in San Francisco, specializes in a wide range of care for residents requiring high-needs assisted living: behavioral health care, coordination of scheduled nursing services, clinical care, home healthcare, hospice care, and innovative forgetfulness care (what others call memory care, dementia care or Alzheimer's disease care).

Here in the vibrant Hayes Valley neighborhood, the community at AgeSong at Laguna Grove provides assisted living in an airy, modernized building, featuring breathtaking views of Zen and rooftop gardens and a richness of natural light. Owned by Pacific Institute, a Bay Area non-profit organization, our community serves elders through care, education, and research. By melding our inner community with our outer surroundings by promoting community involvement and learning, we encourage our residents towards growth and participate in life instead of giving way to isolation or loneliness.

Four elements define our approach to creating caring elder communities:

Vibrant and Healing Environments. AgeSong at Laguna Grove uses natural materials, light, color, and sound to support health and healing. Our comfortable ambience is enlivened by the spirited attitudes of our staff, residents, students, volunteers, interns, and family members.

Challenging Current Attitudes. Our own attitudes about aging affect how we see our elders and ourselves. AgeSong at Laguna Grove promotes the idea and practice of embracing aging. Given there is a strong societal belief that aging equals decline, we are committed to shift this attitude towards one that celebrates aging as maturing. AgeSong at Laguna Grove encourages people to be who they are, at any age.

Learning Campus. Our programs and approaches combine research and educational principles with techniques that our resident and family members have taught us about dementia care - a truly individualized experience. AgeSong at Laguna Grove offers a variety of educational, cultural, and social programs, and we encourage residents, their families, staff, interns, and community members to participate.

Integrative Care and Services. Here at AgeSong at Laguna Grove, we are continually adapting to residents' newfound needs. Our comprehensive care coordination supports even the most challenging activities of daily living, allowing residents to feel secure and at home.
